This long weekend trip centres around a special viewing of the Baltic Symbolism exhibition Ȃmes Sauvages at Musee d’Orsay with free time to indulge the wildness of your own soul amidst the classic delights of Paris.

Day 1, Saturday 7th July

Arrive at Nolinski Hotel where you have a Deluxe Room for 2 nights.

Day 2, Sunday 8th July

A leisurely breakfast at the hotel will prepare you for -

Musee d’Orsay, transformed by Gae Aulenti from a station into a ground-breaking museum, it is now one of the biggest art museums in Europe and houses the greatest collection of impressionist and post-Impressionist masterpieces in the world. You will have a private tour with the undivided attention of Ginta Gerharde-Upeniece, the head of the project of the Latvian section of the Wild Souls exhibition who will take you through the exhibits in minute detail on the one hand, and give you a global context for the Symbolism movement, on the other .

Day 3, Monday 9th July

Another leisurely breakfast.

Led by the Director of Textile Operations Marie-Hélène Massé-Bersani, your very special and private tour of the National Furniture Foundation’s Tapestry department will take you to the area where the highly skilled artisans actually sit to do their knotting work. France has never lost its admiration of the refined art of tapestry weaving. Here, weavers still use age-old techniques and century-old wooden looms to create modern art tapestries as well as tapestry version of well-known great works of art by Matisse, Picasso, Miró, Le Corbusier, Delaunay, Dufy, Derain, Hartung, Zao Wou-Ki, Vasarely, Bourgeois.
