Hilma af Klint
the very very first

12.10.2018 - 27.01.2019

New York, USA, North America

A long under-recognized innovator of abstract art, Af Klint had begun producing non-objective paintings by 1906, significantly before the more famous artists of the genre. The bold colour palettes and expansive formats af Klint frequently used were also like little else that had been seen before. Despite her prescience, af Klint was not well known during her lifetime or the decades following her death. She produced her more ground-breaking works as part of her spiritual practice.
