14.03.2018 - 16.03.2018
Hamburg, Germany, Europe
We place you in the hands of two of the world’s most capable organists. After a private guided tour of this architectural wonder, Iveta Apkalna, the “master” of the Elbphilharmonie’s grand instrument will personally reveal its secrets and introduce you to the evening’s concert by Thomas Trotter. After the performance, you will have an opportunity to meet and talk to Thomas Trotter personally, accompanied by Iveta Apkalna.
Tour Programme: 3 days and 2 nights
Day 1, Wednesday, 14th March
Arrival and free day in Hamburg. On the other hand, as the Sir Nikolai hotel is rather special, you may want to simply enjoy your surroundings which include: unlimited music (almost), vintage carpets and curated art, books, stunning views and great spa products and services.
Day 2, Thursday, 15th March
Leisurely breakfast at the hotel.
Take the 15-minute walk to the Elbphilharmonie, one of the world’s newest iconic cultural buildings where Iveta Apkalna will be waiting for you.
She is the organist who has been described as “dancing with the organ” and has received almost every possible international music award. She has developed a special affinity with the Elbphilmarmonie which she will share with you on a personally guided tour of the building at an agreed time in the afternoon.
8 pm You have excellent seats for the Thomas Trotter concert . This globe-trotting organist is a master of the tradition of romantic British organ music, however the programme is a powerful well-rounded expression of the organ’s great diversity of repertoire.
10:15 pm At the conclusion of the performance you will be escorted backstage to enjoy a private conversation with Thomas Trotter and Iveta Apkalna in the Green Room. It’s not hard to enjoy marvellous music but the opportunity to discuss it with the very creators is a rare pleasure indeed.
Day 3, Friday, 16th March
Another leisurely breakfast and a slow departure.
