The Bolshoi Zal (large hall) of the Saint Petersburg Philharmonia, is one of the best-known music halls in Russia. The hall hosts two world-famous symphony orchestras: the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Saint Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra. The building housing the hall was constructed in 1839. The Bolshoi Zal has been the chosen venue to premiere multiple famous works by Russian composers as Borodin, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Glazunov.
