Titilaka is located on the south-eastern shore of Lake Titicaca (elevation 3812m) on a tranquil private peninsula shared only with the local Aymara community. Chosen by active travellers to try kayaking, canoes, paddle boards or sailboats, it is also suitable for travellers who love their comforts to enjoy nice Peruvian cuisine and observe the Milky Way from the lodge terrace at night. A stylish base to explore Lake Titicaca with the world-famous floating Uros islands and indigenous communities of Taquile island.

Sustainability:

  • Separating, recycling, reducing waste. Also introduced biodegradable cleaning supplies
  • Reusing grey waters and donating organic residues. Lunch and picnic boxes are presented in plastic-free, reusable or recyclable materials
  • Monthly beach clean-up around the lodge and in the neighbouring communities

Community interactions:

  • More than 75% of the staff is local. Also get all of their produce from local small business owners or regional markets, promoting the farm-to-table initiative
  • Property’s social projects benefit local community in terms of youth empowerment and education (free English lessons and paid internships for local students), health (necessary equipment for local dentist), cultural conservation (financial support to organize the annual Candelaria festival, Uris Island Titinoamanecer, etc)
