The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, referred to as The Guggenheim, is housed in one of the most iconic buildings of the 20th century. It was nominated for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the towering, white monument on the edge of Central Park draws you in, and the long, ascending, spiral gallery guides you upward on a meditative stroll flanked by inspirational and eye-opening art of the 20th century and beyond. The innovation in the building’s architecture is reflected in the permanent collection within which provides a spectacular core for the museum, and any temporary exhibition here is always worth a visit.
